:: Debian 7 – Server crashed and rebuilt

Memo to myself. Server crashes suck.
Yesterday i got into the sad situation that my old server configuration tried to update from Wheezy to Jessie.
Somewhere in between the whole configuration got corrupted as multiple critical services got new .conf files.
I was restoring a backup from my hoster (strato) but quickly noticed strato is not really taking snapshots but either some sort of incremental file backups.

Anyway gladly i am using backup addons for all my CMSs. Now i want to document the steps i have taken to rebuilt my server in case this happens again (for me or someone else).

Reinstalled the Host by using the configuration panel of Strato
Installed packets (listed below)
Configured nginx
Created dev user for web environment
Configured vsftpd
Restored backup of old www-data
Restored backup of old SQL databases
Configured iptables

I will explain it in more depth as i am working on my server.
